Car air-con system is similar to human heart. When in operation, it constantly supplies cooled air to the entire car cabin and re-circulates all the cabin air back for cooling. Over time, this air distribution process causes airborne contaminants which originate from inside and outside the car cabin to accumulate in the air-con coil.

When the contamination becomes excessive, the cooling rate of the cabin air reduces. The cabin temperature will then increase correspondingly and the car air-con compressor has to work “extra” to maintain the desired level of the cabin temperature. This “extra” work done requires additional energy from the car engine that transforms the needed energy from the fuel. Whenever fuel is transformed and used as energy source, by-products such as Particulates (PM 2.5), Nitrogen Oxide (NOx), Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) will be released to the environment as pollutants through the car exhaust.

Scientific studies have indicated that vehicle air-con system can reduce fuel economy by 20% to 50% while increasing the vehicle tailpipe emission such as NOx by nearly 80% and CO by 70%.

In view of this, GAF Technologies developed the world’s first water-based car air-con treatment solutions using the Micro Encapsulation Technology. With this technology, this treatment essence cleanses, deactivates, deodorizes
and improves the car air-con system efficiency without corroding the coil surfaces.



CaireFresh™ Car Air-conditioner Treatment Essence comprises of three solutions, namely ECO DE-CON™,

Cairogen™ is the microcapsule that encases ECO DE-CON, ECO DE-BIO and the ECO DE-ODOR respectively for use in air-con coil treatment. Each capsule has size that ranges from one to several hundreds of microns in diameter. When dispersed through the mechanically pressurized sprayer, millions of Cairogen arrive at the contaminated air-con coil. Each Cairogen begins to surround and encapsulate the contaminant. This process allows effective isolation of contaminants and enables the active treatment essence to react with these contaminants without damaging the coil.
